Last week I decided to switch up on my deep conditioner. Instead of the usual "La Bomba with Avocado oil" I had been working with I used "10 en 1". I've used both in the past and gotten great results, no biggie right? Wrong!
The first time I did the deep conditioning treatment with 10 en 1, I also used African Black Soap as a shampoo. After rinsing, I styled my hair with coconut oil and Get Set Hair Jelly. Everything was going according to plan. After my hair dried I noticed my hair felt hard, and this wasn't normal. My first reaction was that maybe the shampoo was the culprit. So, the following week, I didn't use the shampoo, but deep conditioned with 10 en 1 again. Once again my hair felt hard. Aha!
I gave away my deep conditioner to a fellow curly girl who doesn't use products in her hair. At least I know it will be going to a good home. I will have to keep an eye out on certain products that react adversely to others.
